I have an urgent need to test some software on a GeForce 7 series card. I also have a Mac Pro with 64-bit EFI. It was my understanding that the OEM GeForce 7300 card Apple provides will not work.
Does anyone know of a way to a) make the Apple 32-bit EFI 7300 work or b) know of a way to make a generic PC GeForce 7 card work in the 64-bit EFI Mac Pro?
I do have a GeForce 8 and Radeon HD 2600 card for this Mac Pro, so if it's possible to have one of those as my main card and the 7300 as a secondary card, that'd be acceptable. I haven't taken the plunge to buy a 7300 yet, so I'm not sure if the card would be available after the OS boots or if it truly needs a 32-bit EFI to insert itself into the device tree.
I've tried googling on this, but most chatter on this relates to hackintoshes.
