I was planning to buy the 64GB version of iPad Pro 12.9 2017. When I checked the storage of my iPhone 6s Plus, I found that I have used 70 of the 128 GB storage. Most are 4K photos and some videos I took.

If I use Dropbox, is it still advisable to get the 64GB version of iPad Pro? I mainly use it for reading and annotating university textbooks in pdf, as a second screen for my upcoming MBP, perhaps as a tablet for drawing. Not sure but perhaps to also watch videos of lectures.

By the way, is iPad Pro 2017 SIM lock free? An Apple salesperson said it is not but I read that it is. Can’t trust her as she had no idea what SIM lock free means.

As far as I'm aware, iPads sold by Apple in the US (can't speak for those sold outside of US) are not SIM locked. You can, however, order the cellular version for a carrier of your choice. I purchased the Verizon version but later on switched to T-Mobile. All T-Mobile did was remove the Verizon SIM card and replaced it with one of theirs.

I have the 64GB version and it's plenty of storage space for me. But I don't use my iPad for games, music, or videos. It's primarily my backup when I'm away from my home office. And I don't use Dropbox. I use iCloud and OneDrive.
