and why would you want a 23" laptop....it would be too big to be manageable..

What prompted you to make the thing up?

I have no excuse. Taking up bandwidth? Tired of the ridiculous rumours? Who knows. It was 3am when I made it. I saw a post about G5 laptops and got igitty.

Of course I'd remove the thread if I were you!

I wouldn't mind a 23" laptop - with a built in Wacom tablet and full size keyboard it would be killer. Better yet would be an expandable screen - say you have a 15" PB and you have the ability to slide 2 5" LCDs out of the sides of the display to bring your total screen size to 25" - sweet. Ah one can dream. I could always use more real estate - ever have every palette open in Painter or Photoshop - gets a bit cramped even on a 17" PB.

I'd like to go in the other direction - an 8" or even 6" PowerBook. No optical, G3 processor, 8 hour+ battery life. :D

That'd be one hella small keyboard. My fat fingers don't fair well on small keyboards.

There's a bigger keyboard. Did I mention I was a beta-tester for Apple's new 64" Powerbook?

is that the one with the footpad so you can finally get the full experience from your emulator running Nintendo Track & Field?

If I remember correctly, some years back IBM had a sub laptop that had a full sized "butterfly" keyboard that, when opening the display, allowed the keyboard to "flap" open from two halves and form a full arrangement including number pad keys. This allowed a small (I think 9 or 10 inch screen?) screen and footprint, but gave you the full sized keyboard.

Not very portable but why not just wire (better-wireless) a keyboard into the 64" HD plasma screen on the wall and build the HD into the wall between the studs!!

No wait!! Voice recognition!! even better – no keyboard.

THIS just in... Jobs at MacWorld Ulan Bator introducing the iJ-Tron. Takes a family of three to force quit Microsoft Office.

Okay, I'm done with my excursion into stupidity.
Back to the real world.

Does the 23" PB come with quad G5 processors? If not, then it'll never fly with the Mac rumours crowd. ;)

Nah, a G7. Under wraps until recently outed at MacSurfer, the G7 uses cold fusion (see other post), so it runs virtually forever on a half a glass of tap water. It weighs 150 lbs. and cost 1.5M US. Shipping is free.
