Why does it take a couple seconds to open folders...?

Ok, so I just bought a Unibody MBP about 2 weeks ago and starting about yesterday whenever I open a folder is takes a couple seconds to show the contents...Is this normal? Anything I can do to fix it?

Shouldn't do that.

Go in Applications / Utilities and run Disk Utility

Click on your drive name and verify disk, then repair permissions.

Maybe you turned it off when the hd was working?

If that doesn't help you might have a logic board issue. Are other things laggy? Internet etc?

Yeh the internet is a little laggy but I'm doing that disk cleanup that lasts 2 days. The folder lag started before I started the disk cleanup though.
