I'm ordering a 27" iMac (3.4 ghz i7, 8gb ram 2tb hdd) . . . . I've read up on 64bit vs 32bit info and it still confuses me. .

  1. Will this be a 64 bit computer?
  2. If so, when I download 3rd party software for this iMac . . . and if given the option to download 32 bit or 64 bit version of the software, should I ALWAYS download the 64 bit version??

Thanks for answering what may be a "dumb question" :D

Any new Mac with Snow Leopard is 64 bit(Native Apps are 64 bit), it will run both 32 bit and 64 bit software. If given an option always go with 64 it will usually run better than 32 bit code. Lion will be out next month and may have even more 64 bit enhancements.
