Hello,

I know this issue is talked about all the time.. but...

They just came out with an update of the macbook... could they really be upgrading so fast?

Any thoughts? Any rumors?

thank you

Updates have come in shorter frames (consider 11/2007 to 2/2008). Could happen, though I don't think likely.

when was this one updated? i remember it was recently.. thought it might have been october.

"Just came out"? The MacBook was updated in October. The January update to the below-the-radar entry-level white MacBook doesn't figure into the calculations.

That said, we probably won't be seeing MacBook updates for a little while yet.

any of the updates will be minor not full refreshes of the macbook probally speed bumps mabye hopefully added firewire port.

So far, there were no rumors about upcoming releases in notebooks. I don't think we'll see a refresh until the launch of Snow Leopard or even Fall.

One more thing to remember. It says "Approaching the End of the Cycle". The Buyer's Guide works by collecting the exact date of a refresh and they average it up. Right now, it's approaching the average day and it usually goes over.

The Penryn speed bump in the next month or so doesn't appear to apply to the lower-end Penryns. So we may not see an update until Arrandale in Q1 2010.

I have a feeling that there are a whole tsunami of these "the guide says to wait!" posts coming in the very near future.

I doubt they would update so soon, they have a lot on the plate coming up. I feel they will wait a bit, and hopefully the next releases will also include a black unibody :)

I figure they'll come out with a MacTouch Tablet before they update the Macbooks. We need Jobs back in the keynotes. The ones without him have been dreadfully boring.
