I want to see if this is just me or if it is a common thing.

Of course, all 3G owners are all wondering if we'll be able to upgrade for the subsidized price when the new iPhone comes out. I bought by iPhone 3G on July 13, 2008 and my upgrade notice on AT&T's website said I will be eligible for an upgrade on July 13, 2009 which is one year after I supposedly signed a 2 year contract with my iPhone 3G.

Is it the same for everyone else? I assume that there will be SOME type of plan for 3G users who want to upgrade. They would be missing out on a lot of sales otherwise. I know I will not upgrade if I have to pay $599 again. I did that for the first gen iPhone, but the whole coolness factor isn't as strong as it was when the very first phones came out.

In any event, it would appear that I will be eligible for the new iPhone in mid July, assuming that is when it is released.
