I think this is worth pointing out. For those who wished the current iMac had a desktop GPU ie a 6970 instead of the 6970M then the new 680gtx is in fact better than the 6970

According to this chart the 680M is better than a 7970M and the 680MX is better than the 680M.

All in all, the gtx680mx looks pretty sweet. The Haswell iMac will probably have a 780mx which is when I'll upgrade.

The looks like the Passmark benchmark. I would take it with a pinch of salt and not as gospel. I don't think it's very good in giving a reliable and unbiased indicator of performance. The 680M is very quick and the 680MX is definitely a beast, but let's wait until some reputable tech sites, like tomshardware and Anandtech, get their hands on it.

WOW, the jump in performance/specs from the 675M to the 680MX is tremendous. That high end iMac with all the upgrades will certainly be a wonderful machine for both designers/developers and even hardcore gamers (via bootcamp mostly).

I'm impressed. It would be a faster machine in general than my 2009 Mac Pro 8 core 2.93Ghz / 32GB RAM / 240GB Sata 3Gb/sec SSD / Radeon 4870. How demoralising. I only just upgraded it to 32GB RAM and added a USB3 PCI card to it!

This same benchmark shows that the 680 is faster than the 690

As I said, the Passmark benchmark is not something that I would rely on. The fact that no reputable tech site uses it for reviews says a lot.

I don't see any 680MX in your chart, thats just a 680M the 680MX is supposed to be better.

The point is that if the 680M is faster than YYYYY, then a 680MX will be even better. However, please note my reservations about the passmark benchmark.

Over at overclockers.net on a thread about the 680mx some posters are actually talking about buying an iMac now, that's gotta be a world first ;¬)

I did say the 680MX is better than the 680M, and I provided links to Gforce as proof.
