How Do I Get iTunes To Detect iPhone 2G ?

I have XP Pro SP1 and iTunes 7.2 installed. But, I can't get my unlocked iPhone 2G to be detected by iTunes. Do I have to update to SP2? What do I do?

I'm on SP2 and iTunes 8, and everything works fine with 2G phone.

You might want to check your USB connection first though, try a different USB port and a different cable.

if you want help you probably shouldn't correct people who are trying to help. especially when they are correct for giving that suggestion.

iTunes 8 is different than iTunes 8.1.1 - anyways just upgrade everything on Windows and upgrade your iTunes. tell us what happens

If I didn't correct people on the help I need, they wouldn't be giving the correct adivce I need. I think you mistake correction for insult. I didn't insult. If you can't understand this, then you definitely need correcting in life. Mind you, this isn't an insult.

Anyway, I need to know from others in here about whether or not I should update to SP2. Let me know guys.

I think you may also need some life correction, SP2 came out several years ago and most applications only support XP SP2 or higher. Mind you this is not an insult, just an observation.

Your reply looked like an insult to me as well, after I tried to help you. Maybe you should think about how you express yourself. Perhaps it's not everyone else who is wrong.
