I prefer a black menu bar, and with Magnifique I have changed the menu bar color to black and the standard icons such as AirPort, volume and battery charge to white. But I have several third-party applications with menu bar icons and they have remained black. Is there any way I can change all the menu bar icons to white?

Thanks for any help.

I don't think you can do this in Leopard. :(

You can, if you change the theme of your OS.

Although I am not sure if it is a warranty voider or not.

As far as built-in controls to change your menu bar icon color, it is not possible.

If your theme didn't change the menu bar icon for an app, you can do it by following these steps:

Get custom menu bar icons for the app here or make them yourself,
Browse to the app in the finder,
Right-click and click on “Show Package Contents,”
Browse to: Contents > Resources (actual location may differ),
Back up the original menu bar icons,
Copy the new icons into that folder,
Restart the app.

I changed the quicksilver icons this way.

Unless they're built into the theme or are customizable, like Menu Meters, I don't think it's possible.

@Aaleck. Man I remember the great days of Kaleidoscope. I had a NExT theme that was pretty cool.

Yes, you can. They're just small images in .app containers. See my previous post.

Re: Changing menu bar icon color

@magamo

I tried to change te color of menubar icons with illustrator,
i can both change appearance and opacity, but the icons stay grayscale.
Is there any code in plist or something you'll have to change?
i even have this when i make, 4 example, a new pdf file (14*16px 4bluetooth menu icon) and add a colored figure in it, it stays gray.
