Is there much difference in the 2 spins?

If I replace my 320GB HDD with a new 320GB 7200rpm make much difference to load times and the odd gaming within windows

if you have the money to spare, go for ssd. it's more expensive but the performance gain is INCREDIBLE! i use corsair SSD myself since it's price is lower than intel X25-M but it offers higher capacity (128GB instead of intel x25-M with 80GB).

You'll notice a distinct difference in anything that's disk intensive, such as booting up, file transfers, application cold starts, software updates, etc.

5400 will be painful once you get used to the 7200. Even moreso with ssd's.
