I recently upgraded my black-bezel MBP to 6GB using a 4GB chip from a well known RAM vendor. The vendor sent me chips they had specifically tested on a recent MBP 2.6 before shipping them out. However, on my machine the memory only works when I use the 9600M setting, and crashes shortly after login on the 9400M setting.

Anyone else notice this? If I stay on the 9600M (faster video) everything runs fine.

The vendor has been very good about working with me, but I'm reaching to find out if any other people have experienced the same problem so we can try to get the bottom of this.

Specs: MBP 2.8, 320GB/7200rpm

Thx,

Jeremy

it's probablly hard to find someone with a 4gb stick right now due to pricing ($500+ per 4gb stick).
