so when you use the touch feature to open messages, it gives you the option of about three of your contacts or to start a new message. How does it select the contacts it presents as options? They seem to be just completely random.

BUMP. We've all been using 3D Touch for a while now so I was wondering if anyone has been able to figure this out.

To me it looks like the three most recent contacts that you have interacted with.

I tend to agree with this. My fiancée and I exchange quite a bit of texts when we're at work and she's always the first contact listed when I hit 3D touch for the messages app. The other two contacts appear to fluxuate depending on who else I'm interacting with.

Odd, my three are not any people I've interacted with in the last week. In fact one of the three was over 2 weeks ago and I rarely texted her prior to that.
Can't seem to get the people I've texted today to show up.
