So the 6s ads claim 'same battery life' as 6.

This is BS.

The battery size is smaller in the 6s, and can only do same battery life as 6 due to software optimizations in iOS9.

But an iPhone 6 on iOS9 has more than its 'advertised' battery life under iOS9, by an hour infact.

SO..
6S battery life under iOS9 is 1 hour less than 6 under iOS9.

Can someone dispute this?
6S actually has worse battery life than 6, both running the same OS.

Won't know until an independent source other than Apple does a study on battery life of the 6S.

Newer technology and chipsets draw less power, I believe the battery life will be sufficient, Generally I am able to charge my phone periodically throughout the day (commuting from work and such). Battery life is the least of my concerns and there is so many different power packs out now it's almost impossible not to charge your phone.

Personally I am more worried about my Apple Watch battery life more than anything.

Mods just close this thread
and why is that? Its a thread, pointing out the things which were said in the keynote about the battery life of the upcoming iPhone.

This is a valid thread and i've been around long enough to know its worth a thread.
Unless you do some research, don't bother posting useless replies.

The evidence is the Keynote.
The things they stated about the 6s.

Do you not take the Keynote as evidence?
No.

the creators of the iPhone said it, that is a fact.
No, I don't recall them saying it has shorter battery life than its predecessor. That would be poor marketing - something Apple is not known for.

Are you that daft to believe that the 14nm A9 chip will not improve battery efficiency? It ain't just about 'software optimization', dear.

Just for reference, the A8 chip is 20nm. I suggest you brush up on your technical knowledge.

And we will only know when the full reviews and benchmarks come out e.g. battery life, camera quality, GPU performance. Until then, stop speculating.

Here. According to Apple.com
the iPhone 6 Plus now has 1 extra hour battery life with iOS9. (not mentioned, in the comparison screenshot, but mentioned in the iOS release notes).

Hence 6 Plus has 25 hours talk time.
Where as the 6s Plus will still have 24.

You simply cannot make such a claim just by adding 24 and 1.

Your claim is not factual until you understand how Apple arrives to the numbers it does - both in updates and website specs. Were the specs gathered from a device that was bone stock, had additional apps, etc.? Unless you have this information, you cannot make this statement as fact.

Well, for one those are not release notes. Google "release notes" to get the real ones. And for two, they talk about general battery usage, not just talk time. I don't recall any of the hardware optimizations having anything to do with the cellular radio.

This is the only sensible post in this thread.

It's amazing how people completely ignore the increased efficiency of the hardware. Or maybe they just don't know that hardware can impact these things as much as or more than the software.

Either way, even if the 6 Plus now had an extra hour of battery life over the 6s Plus, I'd still take 3D Touch, 2 GB of RAM, and an improved camera over that one hour of battery life. Especially with those geekbench scores that got posted. The 6s Plus is going to be like my iPad Air 2, only smaller. And that's a beautiful thing.
