With auto turned off and brightness cranked up side by side the 6 is significantly brighter then the 6s. Anyone else notice this?

Same here, it looks really dark compared to my 6 plus, i just compared it with my daughter's 6 and her screen is so much brighter.

take a selfie with the new screen flash, maybe it will "wake it up" some?

I don't see any appreciable difference in brightness between my 6 and 6 S. The 6 may be very slightly brighter but I never use full brightness anyway so on a practical level it makes no difference at all. I've had multiple iPads and phones and they all vary in screen tint and brightness. If unhappy with the screen I would exchange it.

Yes, I noticed this too. It's partly because my 6 is blueish and my 6S is yellowish, and the blueish color temperature appears brighter. It's also because the top left 1/4 of my 6S is darker than the rest of the screen. I'll be returning my 6S and I'm not sure I'll bother getting another one.

i gave my 6 to my girlfriend but i just checked my 6S - seemed quite bright and then i went into display & brightness settings and it was at 20% - moved it to full and found it hard to look at. that said, i am in a lamp-lit room so might be different on a bright day.

Noticed this too. My 6 seems to have more "pop". Debating whether to exchange it or not. I'm going to give it a couple of days.
