Using an aux cable or headphone(no mic) disables the phones mic for Siri. Anyone else notice this?
With Hey Siri on it works normally. I shouldn't have to have this on for basic Siri to work though.Just a random hunch, but do you have "Hey Siri" active? Do you get the same result toggled
On/off?
Lol wow. It doesn't work with "Hey it's Sofiya Siri" for me. Completely silent when I hold the button down. Weird. With Hey Siri on it works normally. I shouldn't have to have this on for basic Siri to work though.
I noticed it is the same for dictation. This is a big issue as in the car I use the an aux cable and the Siri/dictation feature quite a bit.I made a post about this too. If you have hey Siri enabled and your headphones are plugged in it won't listen from the headphone mic, it only listens from the phone mic.
Pretty sure this has to be a bug.
Still don't think hey Siri works over the headphone mic (always listening feature).Actually, Siri wasn't working over headphone mic for me, either (still on a 6 Plus, waiting for my 6S Plus to arrive) ... BUT it's working now (9.1b3) so I think you guys will be fine. Apple seems to have fixed the problem!
I am on Beta 5 and it has been fixed.I too have the issue on my 6s Plus: Siri doesn't hear me when I have my aux cable plugged in. I also have "Hey Siri" turned off. This did not happen with iOS 9 on my non-s 6 Plus. There's a thread for this over at Apple's website. It probably wouldn't hurt for everybody here that's affected to to go over there and click "I'm having this question/problem too."
Can anyone confirm if the following is a bug or a feature?
iPhone 6S. Siri listening turned off (to save battery life. No option to only listen when plugged in any more).
If I have the headphone jack connected to my car, Siri no longer listens on the phone mic. I used to be able to press the home button to active siri, then speak my request. Now it initiates siri but doesn't hear me.
