My wife has been experiencing slow performance on her 6S and she went to Apple and got the battery replaced. It was one of the units that was under recalls of the battery was free. She is still dissatisfied with the performance. She really wants an X but wants to wait for the fall when prices go down. Is there anything we can temporarily do to speed up the performance of the 6S?

It could very well be a placebo effect. With a new battery there’s no throttling.

The only option you have is restore and setup as new and see if her perception of the performance improves.

Don’t count on prices going down this fall unless you plan on buying a used X. Current reports suggest Apple may kill off the current X model in favor of the lower cost LCD model that is to be released. Expect this year’s refreshed OLED models to be priced similarly to the current X.

They aren’t killing off the x. Secondly there is still the 5.8 inch to go along with the 6.5 and 6.1. People need to get their stuff right.

Yes they are killing the X. There will be a 2nd gen X to replace it.

Nothing is confirmed but predictions from sources (e.g. analysts such as Ming-Chi Kuo) who have a long prior history of accurately predicting Apple’s decisions agree that the X will in all likelihood be killed off since lowering the price on it will directly compete with the new low end LCD phone that is supposed to be released alongside the new OLED phones. It would not be the first time Apple has killed off the previous year’s phone in favor of a cheaper, relatively equivalent new model instead of keeping last year’s model around at a lower price point.

Restore as new. Try it.
What iOS version you on? You should keep it on iOS 10 or older.

"Killed off" isn't really an appropriate description, it sounds like you're a blogger or anal-ist. Discontinued is what the X will be, replaced with a new improved model (at an even more stupid price). The only reason I'd "upgrade" from my 6s+ is the dual camera and "portrait" mode, but no headphone socket just irritates the, er, stuffing out of me.

That's your answer. She wants the X. Full stop. Never argue further with your wife. :)

The truth is obvious. Just that everybody can’t deduce the same thing from a given set of data easily.

The 'given set of data' is the interesting thing. Because you deduct by leaving those 'data' out of your deduction. Was the fact that the new IOS that is to be released this year and that makes old iPhones faster, part of this 'set of data'?
