I recently got a refurb iPhone 6S the other day. I had a launch 6S phone and had become accustomed to the faint vibration that it provides with the new motor.

This refurb seems different. It's a bit more harsh and almost has a slight hollow springy sound to it. It's most noticeable when I'm making a phone call and get a text with the phone up to my head.

It's not too annoying or anything but definitely seems a bit different.

Did they change the motor at all since launch?

I wouldn't worry about it. If you got it refurbished, its probably just wear from the previous owner.

My sister bought a 6s about a month ago, and it is beginning to do the same thing.

Thanks for the reply. Went to the Apple Store and it's clearly different from a "normal" 6S but asked the genius guy and they consider it "within normal expectations". Really drives me crazy when I'm on a phone call and the way it vibrates when up to my ear but I'll just live with it for now.
