iPod touch 6th Gen IOS 10.0.1 Update and iTunes

Recently did the iOS 10 update and found that it really changed around my personal music list in iTunes. Specifically, I can no longer use the alpha character to select an artist, but have to manually pull down artists list and scroll until I find what I want (don't really use shuffle very much). I cannot find anything that shows how to allow artist access by alpha character. What I really dislike, since I cannot use the alpha mode is that while scrolling down the list, often it defaults back to "A". Anyone experienced this and have a fix??
