yes it does, it comes up on my macbook as a ipod nano and you can store stuff on it. now my question is how to turn it off because i cant figure it out!

this might mean you can expend the storage on it? like to 32GB?

No, it means that you can make the iPod appear on your desktop like an external hard drive and copy files to and from it. It's a feature that has been available in older iPods for years but something we're seeing less of with the changes to the current iPod lineup.

On the Summary tab in iTunes is the option to Enable disk use. You should be able to turn it off there.

haha i ment turn the actual ipod nano off! i cant figure it out i hold the sleep/wake button like i would on my iphone and ipad and nothing happens does it not shut off?! this is crazy!

Oh, I thought you were still talking about the disk mode.

I saw your thread on shutting it off. You might have to get that checked as mine turns on and off by pressing on the Sleep/Wake button.
