Yeh, join the club. How are stock levels at your local Apple Store? Try calling?

I just grabbed my 2.26 13" MBP at my Apple store yesterday. While I was buying mine two other people were also buying MBPs, both 13" (and the Apple Store I was at was really tiny too). According to the specialist, they are selling like crazy, but were in stock of everything but the printer I wanted :p After using mine, I can see why, the thing is amazing :D

As for the online store, wow, they're all on delay but the base 13"

Apple Store (Online) - Australia: Estimated Ship: 7-10 business days -15-inch: 2.53GHz MBP.

Looks like demand is outstripping supply. Good news in a way, for Apple anyway. Seems like this quarter is going to show some very healthy sales / profits. :)

I agree. understandable why they are so out of stock. the issue is patience is not my strong suit, and I am pining over it.

the worst part is that I got my incase neoprene case sleeve today, and my mbp hasn't shipped yet

It's very easy for anyone to get it shipped in 1-3 days if you just upgrade the hard drive. It's only the stock configurations that are out.

Had my month-old Macbook Pro 15" 2.4Ghz stolen from uni 10 days ago but got the insurance for it yesterday. I checked the net for the newer 15" 2.53Ghz Macbook Pros to see where they were available but no store had any in stock. I took a chance and went to my local MediaMarkt (Stockholm, Sweden) and they had just put out one on the table as a demo. I told them that I wanted it and they sold it to me for $100 less than the going price since the box had been opened. I also managed to get theclerk to throw in a Kensington lock. :)

Battery life when I first unplugged it from the mains w/ bluetooth off, wifi on, full screen brightness and surfing the net was 7.49 hours remaining!

Moral of the story: the newer models are worth the wait! (but look around at some big local stores, some may have received demos they are willing to part with).
