7/11 Supply vs. Demand questions

I haven't really seen any expectations in the US about the 3G supply that will hit stores. If I want to show up to either an Apple or AT&T store mid-day on Friday or else on Satureday is there likely to be any supply available, or do most people expect the first wave of phones to be sold out fairly quickly?

I plan on getting it but I'm fine if I have to wait a week or two to get it. I thought I read somewhere that the supply in the US should be pretty plentiful though and that most stores should have stock to make it through the weekend.
