7.5v adapter instead of 5v???

Just bought a 2.5 enclosure that came with a dual USB (y-shape) cable and no AC adapter. I only have 1 free USB port.

Found a 7.5v 1a AC adapter in the house.

Can I use this instead of buying a 5v 1a AC adapter or a USB hub?
