7/7/08 - What do u think Apple will announce?

I'm sure they should announce they will also sell 3G Iphone on 7/11 at 8 a.m.? It's kinda stupid if they will not sell till 6 p.m.:rolleyes:

And I wonder if they would also be releasing Iphone 2.0 software, App Store and Mobile Me on 7/7/08? Exciting! :D

 
Apple will announce the following:

8am opening for sales
complete activation process (tether unbrick in store then itunes at home)
no committment policies in apple stores
accessories
1 new native app
a few apple supplied apps in the app store
release of mobile me
 
Sorry for the question, but did Apple announce a press conference or something or is this just a speculation thread on a 7/7/08 announcement?

Well, I would think Apple would have some kind of press conference or similar. They need to feed the hungry press people with more info before the launch and give all the news stations a nice story to get people not in the know out to the stores.
 
I agree, I think everything drops on the 11th. It would be unusual if Apple launched the product in their stores at 6 if AT&T opens at 8.

We already know they will not launch the App Store until after 7/7 because that date is the last day developers can submit their apps and still have a chance for them to be in the store on launch day. 7/11 it is.
 
We don't even need to think or guess the 11th.

"iPhone 2.0 software will be available on July 11 as a free software update via iTunes® 7.7 or later for all iPhone customers."
 
There is a meeting for all Apple Employees on the 6th. But I think that all the meeting will cover is when the Apple stores with be opening and how to go about distribution unbricking etc.
 
I dont see how they will have time to review all the apps between the 7th and the 11th on launch day. Thats only 4 days for apple engineers to review and approve all applications before launch day. Do you people really think that enough time to ensure correctness (my word)? I think 12th for apps store. just speculating.
 
I think that Mobile Me will release on 07/07. The Mobile Me site says to have all computers synced by 07/06.
 
I think they will announce nothing, since they haven't, you know, told the press to show up anywhere to hear it :)

Weird that they are having a company meeting on a Sunday (the 6th)...
 
MobileMe has to be one. MobileMe has to be ready by July 11th. Apple has a lot planned to be released on July 11th.

iPhone 2.0 Firmware
AppStore up and running.
iTunes 7.7
All accounts of .Mac upgraded to 20GB of storage from 10GB for MobileMe.
