7+ lightning port sticks out a little?

Can't take a picture until I get home but I felt a bump when I was holding my phone with my pinky over the lightning port.

Upon closer inspection, it looks like the lightning port is sticking out a little, and if you look directly over the phone, you can tell it's not flush with the bottom side, does anyone have this also?

Going to have to duck tape my pinky for that to happen, my pinky lets me reach so I can type 1-handed lol

Mine is perfectly flush as far as I can tell. It sounds like it's probably a defect of your phone. Either that or perhaps you have microscopes for eyes.

Don't need microscopic eyes to tell my fingernail gets stopped by the edge of the lightning port.

Placing my pinky there has always been uncomfortable even when it's flush (on 6, 6s and 7). This wasn't an issue with the 5/5s.

They need to ditch it for good and give us wireless charging.

There is a lip there to seal against the headphone adapter to mitigate sweat intrusion. Check the lightning end of the headphone adapter, there is a grey rubber\silicone material that is absent on normal lightning USB cables. The lightning EarPods also have this material on the lighting plug.

Then your phone is missing a part because it's not a bump, it's more like a washer.

Can't say about iPhone 7 (not purchased yet) but my other iPhones lightning ports are flush with their unibody

Mine is that way too. I hadn't noticed until I saw this post. So I looked at my 7 Plus and I can see it, and definitely feel it with my fingernail. Don't worry about it.

Yeah that's why I got a little worried but it looks like i'm not alone.

Hmm i don't mind the lightning port because it might have something to do with the IP67 water resistance but the SIM tray on the other hand... Get that unit swapped out.

I thought it's a sign of cheap replacement, but nope, original chassis sometimes are rough there too.
