Not sure if this is the proper place to post, but I do not have time to research it. I am a first responder in Dickinson texas and have been separated from my family for over 100 hours while at work in the floods. I finally got my first break several minutes ago and started to facetime my wife and kids. Two minutes into it, the phone randomly died and I can not turn it back on. I have tried doing the hard restart and plugging it in. Its a brand new(2 months old) iPhone 7 plus. it lives in a water proof, shock resistant case and has no external damage, although got wet several weeks after I got it, but has worked fine since then. The battery was charged at 100% at the start of the facetime call, so I assume the battery was probably around 98% or so. No issues with anything so far besides that.. anybody have any idea what is going on and how I might fix it?

happened to me too. you have now lost all your data and will need to get your phone replaced. apple will not help you retrieve your data. you got a faulty phone, too bad.

You can try DFU mode, if you have access to a computer. If not, you can try leaving it plugged in for a good while and see what happens.

More than likely, the earlier water bath damaged your phone, and it will need to be repaired.

Have you tried a hard reboot? By simply holding the power button and the volume down button simultaneously? This happens on few occasions on my new iPad pro 10.5 but can happen to any iOS device. I used it, 2 minute later, nothing responds and a hard reboot simply fixed the issue. I might take it to the apple store eventually and have my iPad looked at.

Good luck.

You've only lost your data if you don't have a backup. Either an iTunes or iCloud backup. Either way Apple will probably have to replace it. It sounds like water damage.

Why are you making it sound as if Apple won't even acknowledge this situation, even if it water damaged. And Actually, Apple will assist if any options are possible. Even if the OP has to have the iPhone replaced, they will troubleshoot all options before doing so. Your situation doesn't reflect that of others, especially given Apple's
Customer service track record.
