Back when I was using MacBooks under Lion and Mtn Lion, I had a problem keeping all of my external drives connected. As soon as I would sleep the MacBook, the drives could not be written to until I ejected them and reconnected.
The problem also occurred with my 7 port powered MacAlly USB hub. I could not connect anything to it using the MacBooks without it disconnecting every few minutes.
Now that I have a Mac Mini, the problem with the external drives is fixed and for the most part, so is the US hub until I try to copy a large file to a drive connected to the USB hub. Anything connected to the hub will also disconnect during a large file transfer. The hub does have two ports set aside for high powered devices yet that does not make a difference to what is plugged into them.
Google search brought up many others with the same problems but no fix.
Does anyone have any suggestions here or can recommend a USB hub that will not do this? Thanks
