700 Cycles - Here's the Battery Stats

Heavy user. Bought a new rMB the first day they came out. Use the heck out of it. Never care about battery management. Charge it fully when it's drained.

Here are the Coconut Battery Stats this morning:

Cycles: 700
Full Charge Capacity: 3917 mAh
Design Capacity: 5263 mAh
Percent of Original Battery Capacity: 73.9%
OS X Battery Status: Check Battery

This battery has had it folks. I have Applecare and will get it replaced next month when I take it in to get a bunch of keys replaced as well.

I'm not disappointed. I travel to all 50 states and am on the road nearly weekly and this little computer is with me everywhere. It fits nicely on airplane trays and I use inflight WiFi all the time with it. I watch movies, listen to music and play games on it. I do email, surf the web and use Excel and Word for work all the time. It just works perfectly for me.

I'll post final battery stats the day I take it in for replacement.

I am at 85,3%, 379 cycles, 19 months old but have been as low as 79% a few weeks ago. Still fluctuating a lot.
Do you have a screenshot of the coconut battery graphs? (presume you have downloaded your results at their website).
Would be nice to see how yours have been over time compared to mine.
 
I've had my 2016 rMB for a couple of weeks and I'm already a little concerned about the battery. Mine spends more time plugged in but after 10 cycles its already reporting 95.6% capacity.

My 2013 MBA after 3 years was only down to 91% and the 2010 MBA before that down to 80% after 6 years. Will be keeping a close eye on things...
 
My battery is at 97.2% after 10 cycles.
I'm in the same boat as you tough.
My 15'' rMBP 2015, according to coconut battery is still 100% after 102 cycles!

May I know what is the mAh reading on your 15" rMBP 2015? Mine is 9127 mAh. Thank you.

Thank you for replying, glad to know that 8755 is the full capacity of the battery. So it does seem weird that mine reads 9127 mAh...
 
I'm truly disappointed with that given the HUGE price here in the UK for it £1550 for the 512GB M5 or £1250 for the basic M3.
Just replaced the battery in my original 6.5 year old MacBook. Now this is the one that I have as a business tool. It's averaged 10+ hours of use a day every day! The battery lasted for 2500 charges before it failed.

I'm very worried that the new MBK batteries aren't lasting. Why should I be expected to pay for Applecare when the MBK is so totally expensive? This really concerns me. Do you think that thew new MBKP batteries and overall design are better? I really a MacBook/MacBook Pro to last a good 6 or 7 years.
 
after reading all this i had to check my new 2015 rmb........

after 6 cycles...... 97.15%
2.85% loss after 6

now ive kept my unit plugged in, and the most battery was on the cruise when i would go 2 days between charging. since im new to this mac battery thing, should this be a potential issue or is this the norm??????
 
Swapped the battery at around 459 cycles because it dropped to 76%

the issue is... with the new battery, it started at 100.4% and now it's down to 97%.

I think the issue is battery design.

Did they replace batteries with the whole bottom cover or did they just replace the batteries alone? Am interested as I may have to replace my batteries too... eventually. Thank you.

Under 80 I believe. This is my biggest worry about prob buying the Macbook soon. Seems like this battery problem is a very common issue.

So under 80 within three years then, right?
(My Apple care is valid for 3years)
 
Mine is under 80% now as well.... But OS X condition stating normal. Does anyone know how low it needs to drop to show check battery? Mine has been as low as 77% but I've never seen check battery.

I've been thinking about picking up a rMB instead of a 2015 rMBP but these stats are concerning.

This is my 2012 11" MBA.

Cycles: 994
Full Charge Capacity: 3725 mAh
Design Capacity: 4680 mAh
Percent of Original Battery Capacity: 79.6%
OS X Battery Status: Normal

It fluctuates between 78%-82%.

80 huh? At this rate I'll be there in no time!

Hi,

This is the situation of my rMB. Do you guys think the apple will replace the battery as the capacity is par below the 80%.
