700MHz eMac now $999 after mail-in rebate

A sub-$1000 G4 computer. It's about time. Between the iBook and TiBook price drops, the flat-panel iMac promotions that resellers are running, and now this eMac price drop, I think Apple has a really, really good lineup for the holidays. The only thing left to do is to lower the price of the G3 iMac to $699, and then they'd have competitive pricing in every segment of the computer market.

make crt imac $599, then $499 in 2003

wintel laptops $899-us w/duron or celerons after rebate at short circuit!
