I'm not sure but I think it's something to do with Apple tradition. CAn someone please clarify?
Apple has always used 9:42 in every picture they advertise for the iPhone, for whatever reason.
My eyes are good but how can you even see the time on that picture?
Just barely looking and it obviously looks like 10:32, or 10: something. So it's not 9:42 just based off of that.
Its from the Apple Website... supposedly. If you look at the top of the photo, you notice the menu bar thing.
Like Abyssgh0st said, you can totally tell it's 10: something. I just looked at it again, and it really looks like 10:32. IF that is a real image, I really want to know why the time change...50 minutes? Apple is definitely not a company to do things for no reason, and I do believe the old 9:42 time means something.
OK first of all if you really have proof what is the direct link to the website that person went to!
On the iPhone, it's always been 9:42 AM. On the Mac, it depends on the version number that ships with it: for example, when Macs shipped with Tiger, the clock said "10:40 AM" (10.4), and currently, "10:50 AM" (10.5).
I believe it's 9:42 because that's the exact time the first iPhone was revealed.

"It's light-years fast"? Jeez, to the Photoshop person who tried this, take note that a light year is a measurement of distance, not time or speed.

Maybe the time is something that apple put in there so you know if the pic is legit or not.. Or it could be some other thing they put in there that we don't notice...

hahaha that picture is a total fake! look at the 3G symbol in the menu bar up on the top of the phone! it still is in that box that was present in i think 2.0!
Ha. That's a nice little Easter egg. It's like Pixar referencing their previous films in each new film.
