Identically spec'd macbook pros have a speed difference of .27GHz. They both have 4 gb of RAM. Is it worth the 150 bucks for the upgrade in processor?

I'll be using it for basic college stuff with some video converting. Just wondering if i'll regret not getting the upgraded processor later..

Thanks, can't wait to get rid of Vista!

Now that both models have backlit keyboards, there's really nothing to differentiate one from the other besides the CPU. In my opinion, the 2,26GHz is the one to get. The speed difference isn't that big, and it makes sense to spend the $150 you save on things like RAM and a bigger hard drive. Then again, ordering 4GB of RAM plus a 250GB hard drive from Apple costs $150. That means you actually get the 11% faster CPU for free.

Hmmmm... suddenly the faster model makes a lot more sense.

$150 is not that small amount of money for such a small difference in Mhz... but I think in the long run it's better to have a better processor - if not anything it will attract more customers when/if you'll be selling it...

At least for me, I'm thinking to get the 2.53 model, that way I can make my next MacBook change in about 2 years maybe 3, if I get the 2.26 I'll have to change it in about a 1 year/1 year and a half. That's what I think it's going to be.
