Anyone bought a Pro with a 7200rpm drive in it yet? Just wondering about the obvious - heat, noise, speed etc...

i will know...when mine is delivered... definately worth the upgrade tho if you are gonna pay that much already might as well get the fastest hd they got

Did you get your MBP? Because when I upgraded to a 7200 rpm drive in a previous laptop, i noticed it was louder and hotter than the 5400RPM Drive. you missed the point: its RELATIVELY hotter/louder.

I'm not saying that its hot or loud, it's just hotter and louder

Well i'm on a 7200 and it's fine. Not hotter, definatelly faster and not louder than other speed drives.
