iPhone GPS won't forget old house location

I moved several months ago to a new house in a neighborhood not too far from my old house. On my iPhone 3G when I was at home, the GPS on Google Maps would often first center on my old house, then center on my current house. Now, this exact same thing is happening with my iPhone 3G S. Does AT&T or Apple save your past GPS locations, or what is going on with this? Thanks...
