Serious battery drain

I have had my iphone for three days and now, and just now all of a sudden the phone just went dead. I have used it over the days and the battery showed 2/3'rds full when I last used it. About an hour later it completely stopped working. It is on charge now and is going on. Does it need a longer charging time?

Any help would be appreciated.

Mine totally drains after 3-4 hours with minimal use. I am going to stop by an Apple store for the to replace the battery or the phone.

battery went down again, went to o2 store and was told it was a problem with m phone, got a replacement. I f it happens again, might go to apple instead and see if it a known issue with iphones.
