What do you guys think of the possibility of a 27" iMac? Apple seems to be leaning away from the 20" model (as they did with the 17"). 30" would be too big, but 27" seems reasonable.
Not gonna happen. 27" has same resolution as 24", 1920x1200. IF larger model comes, it'll be 30"
The next step up from 1920x1200 is 2560x1600. 2560x1600 is the resolution that is usually reserved for 30" displays. So if Apple did increase the size of the iMac, it would be 30".
See, (it would be hard) you could cram 2560x1600 into 27". The 24" iMac has a 1920x1200 res. The 17" MBP has a 1920x1200 res. Both the same resolutions, but the MBP's screen is 7 inches smaller.

To be honest, how many people could actually afford a 30" iMac that are in the iMacs demographic... It would be like trying to sell a Mac Pro to a preschooler.
I would get that 30" iMac if they had a touch screen, now that would be a machine to look up recipe's from!

What would be the appeal of a 30" touchscreen? Besides seeing oily fingerprints all over the display, you would need to sit quite close to it to in order to, well, touch the screen.
Just give me a matte option for the iMac![]()
That would suck to have to navigate by hand through a 30" screen. I don't see why everyone wants touchscreen, they suck in my opinion.
Until all the iMac configuration comes in 24" and ditch the 20" completely, the probably for a 27" iMac is 2 pixels of your computer screen.
Hoho!
