Long History:

My 7300/180 with an ATi xclaim VR runs smoothly in OS 8.6.

After I upgraded the Mac with XLR8 carrier and G4/400 ZIF, and
installed OS 9.2.2 with the help of OS9Helper, then every time I open
the Monitor control panel or change the screen resolution, colour
depth, the computer will need about 30 seconds to do the job. I tried
to install the latest video driver but the problem still not gone. I
also noticed that the video driver installed with OS 9.2.2 is the same
version as the latest version. If I switch back to OS 8.6, no delay
is found.

Recently, I further upgraded the Mac with a Sonnet G4/800, and put in
more RAM, then the Mac will randomly freeze for some seconds. The
above delay still exist.

Any idea or solution?

Thanks!
Pat
