S SPeedY_B macrumors newbie Jun 6, 2004 #8 Windows Media Player 9-Mac will play WMV3 files, however they must be in WMV or ASF format, WMP9-Mac does not play mpeg or avi files, which is very annoying, as I downloaded some avi contained WMV3 stuff to watch.. and basically, can't.

And then do repair permissions. If none of these magical fixes work, you may have to face up to the fact that AVI is a multiplexing specification that WMPlayer does not support.
