Cannot connect to server, error -36

Hi, My office does laser eye surgery which we record to burn to DVDs. We record the surgerys onto a Windows computer then I use our iBook G4 to connect to that computer and creating the DVDs with DVD studio Pro. We started getting the error "The finder cannot complete the operation because some data in 'smb://dvdsystem/sx_vids' could not be read or written (error code -36)" whenever we try to connect to that computer. I looked up that error code and only found out that it is a file I/O error and I am not sure what to do or even what that means. Please Help!!1
