Hi,

Go easy I am still learning!

I was looking at Storage in About This Mac on my brand new MacBook Pro, I haven't moved any files over yet but it says I have 407mb of movies and 748mb of pictures on the hard drive.

When I look in pictures or in movies, both folders are empty.

What are they - and where are they and can I delete them?

Thank you.

Interesting you should mention that as I was just looking at my hard drive. I would get an app to take a look at what is really on there--I find that Disk Wave does a nice job of accounting for all your files.

Yes, this is normal, when I first got my mac it said I had 20gb of "Other" ;)

The 20 gigs of other is the recovery partition though isn't it? So that is easily explained. I dont know how 750 megs of pictures that I cant find is normal mind you!

A guy stated to get Disk Wave, it really helped me clean out my HDD within 5 minutes haha. Try getting it, it shows in what folders and what files are taking up kb's mb's and gb's.
