Lube in keyboard and speaker grills?

My roommates thought it would be funny to put an warming sensation extra lubed condoms on my keyboard and close the cover.

I've tried wiping the keys down with a damp taper towel and Clorox disinfectant wipes but there is still some slipperiness on the sides of the keys and in the speaker grill holes.

My main questions are,
1. What is the best way to get the lube out of the speaker grill holes so every time I open my computer my screen is not spotted in warming lube?
2. Can the lube that slipped under the keys or in the speaker grills do any damage?

you will probably have to dissasemble the computer. I'd take it to apple and make your friends pay for the repairs.

Do you have extended AppleCare? If so, and you have a substantial amount remaining, I'd get it checked by an authorized repair centre. Even if no problems directly arise, you'd run the risk of future issues being denied coverage, should they detect a foreign substance, or sign of moisture.

Obviously you mates should be on the hook for this...

You do that and your warranty will probably be voided on the spot. If you want to keep your warranty your only route is to disassemble and clean the computer yourself as delicately as possible, and pray that the liquid immersion sensors have not been tripped.

But of course.

I don't see it as lying if no actual damage has been done to deserve a cancellation of the warranty. Apple is known to be more than willing to void warranties for the most petty reasons so I personally wouldn't risk it.

I spilled coffee on the keyboard of my MacBook Pro which was under AppleCare. I took it in not expecting any kind of coverage. I was completely up front with them. To my surprise, the Genius Bar employee said that as long as the coffee hadn't made it's way to the motherboard, they'd replace the keyboard for free.

And they did.

the jerks. make them pay for any repairs, or if your warranty is voided due to the sensors being tripped, make them buy you a new one.

I doubt this is a typical situation, I'd say you got a nice genius and were lucky.

It's true and I don't see this as lying. Just be very careful that you don't break anything while you are in there or get lube onto places that will really cause a problem.

I'd say your best bet is to DIY as the lube has probably seeped all over the place by now and AppleCare would tell you to get lost.

So... the Genius laughed and said he would have to charge me $300 for a new keyboard! Plus what ever else need to be replaced!

And worst of all, they would have to keep my computer for a week! I'm in college, that will not work.

I'm going to take everything apart and clean it myself I guess.
