is it too good to be true? cuz how can they offer the camera and lens for less then retail. and include those accessories?

It is legit I believe, you aren't getting quality accessories. I believe that Best Buy had them at that price at one point a couple months ago like six or seven weeks ago.

the guy said there was some $35 ups insurance charge.

Well, the flash looks like crap, the wide and telephoto deals aren't lenses they're really just teleconverter type things, and the rest is meh. HOWEVER, providing most of your money went to the kit body/lens, then it's a good deal.
