Going to send a text message yesterday after upgrading to 8.1 on my 5s
click the microphone on the keyboard, and you have to now agree for your dictation to be sent to apple for imessages or some **** and if you dont agree the microphone will not work..?

Dictation as well as all Siri request has always be routed to Apple for processing. Apple just asked now but it still the same.

It's new in iOS 8.1. Dictation used to be tied to Siri settings, and now it's separate from Siri (although works in the same way that it still needs Apple servers).
