Played music and some Internet. Is this worth tryin to get a new phone. Or is it. Normal

What does that mean

It means that is normal. Depending on the strength of my connection mine can be worse than that sometimes. Theses are powerful machines that use a lot of battery to do their thing (hence the weight). Also if you have location services on and iCloud, they will suck A LOT of battery down.
 
What he's saying is that your phone will continue on for over 9 hours before it runs out of juice....doesn't sound too bad....

I always dlfreak out once it gets too 50% but that's only half down
