Hi there,

I'm looking for an 8-bay hard-drive enclosure to use as an external drive for my Mac. I'm upgrading my 4 internal drives, and have four spares that are currently in smaller external enclosures at the moment, all 750gb drives. It is my hope to get a single 8-bay enclosure for these drives that will allow me to combine them into one huge volume.

My current candidate is the Edgestore DAS801t (pdf link), however Edgestore are reluctant to offer OS X support beyond 10.5.1, which is a bit annoying as I already have 10.5.8 and am planning to upgrade to Snow Leopard soon.

I'm wondering if anyone out there is running an 8-bay enclosure successfully with a Mac Pro running the latest Leopard or (preferably) Snow Leopard and can recommend a solution? Or a good drive that will work using firewire or something instead.

I have two eSATA ports connected to the two spare SATA connectors on my Mac Pro's motherboard, and will be switching to these to one of the main four SATA connections (I'm getting a RAID card so the motherboard iPass will be disconnected and therefore free), not sure if those support multiplying though?

Anyway, any thoughts or recommendations are appreciated!
