My iMac (first gen Intel 17") was acting slow, so I checked Activity Monitor.

This is what I saw.

I also came across iTunes using -37% CPU but couldn't get the screen shot fast enough.

(And yes, I need more RAM but I'm maxed out with this Mac)

833.33% CPU usage? That's more than 8 cores... That's only possible with 9 cores or more. That said, surely you've found a glitch where Mac OS X thinks you have more CPU power than you actually have, or your Intel iMac contains some weird pre-release Intel chip.
 
Oh, whew...

I this was going to be yet another time when something has had a complete overhaul/upgrade done to it within days of me purchasing the original spec!

Awesome. Where do I buy that one? Also what is iTunes doing using all those cores? You must be listening to some sweet music while watching an awesome visualizer.
