More frequent hanging while loading webpages and more beachballs while running applications. What's the solution? Erase SSD, reinstall OS and programs like I had to do on my vintage System 7 and 8 Macs every 6-12 months? (Mavericks 10.9.3)

Create a new user and see if the problem persist. And if Safari beachballs you, try another browser.

A) Delete Safari Cache

B) Reset SMC (while you are at it, reset PRAM as well... It doesn't affect performance but it doesn't hurt)...

C) Check permissions

D) If the hangs are on Safari mostly, check what plugins you have installed and check if any are slowing it down.

E) Check what app's you have running that might be slowing down for some weird reason (including apps that start up with the computer)

Upgrade your OS.

And erase junk from it. Make sure your SSD isn't full.

And if necessary, do a clean install of Yosemite.
