Ok Ok I’m sorry for creating yet another battery thread , but I really wanted to shout this from the roof tops.

Ok so I’ve come from a 6s Plus , which incidentally had an amazing battery back in the day when I were a lad ! However like everything it started to show it’s age. Great phone , but poor battery. Tossed up between 8 Plus & new iPhone X (another story & thread) , & for the time being got the 8 Plus.

Running 11.1 beta 3 , & the battery is as good as I’ve ever known , & believe me I’ve had every iPhone & subsequent beta. I’ve been browsing , texting , whatsapping , calling & posting for the last 55 minutes & it’s gone from 100 to 99%

Last night exactly the same & the damn thing just wouldnt drain !!

So for those debating between phones , & battery life is important to you , then you’d be doing well to consider this beast of a battery.

My 7+ got 9-10 hours of usage easily with the latest software. My current 8 (not 8+) I think it is right up there 8-9 hours of usage could happen without low power mode. Today I took it off of the charger at around 7:30AM, It is now almost 1:30pm and I have 86%, 1:36 of usage. Impressed. Let's see how it does on my upcoming business trip :)

I'm very happy with the battery life of the 8 Plus. I came from an iPhone 7 and that one I used to have to start charging early afternoon just to get thru the day. The 8 Plus still has at least 60% when I get home at 6 pm.

This sounds great. Still on the fence on getting any iPhone this year though. But, is the recurring theme here the beta 3 11.1. Are other users on the current iOS doing as well? Just asking---

My 6s Plus battery life has sucked for the last couple iOS's-----best was probably back to iOS 8.

It Seems the reports are fairly positive of the battery life on iPhone 8. But ultimately, battery life is highly subjective based on user settings, applications and how often the user uses their iPhone throughout the day. But I do agree that iOS 11 helps contribute to managing the efficiency of the battery.

It is amazing.

I also upgraded from the 6s Plus... and here's my 8 Plus after a 17 hour work day earlier this month... 13+ hours of which were spent streaming video.

See attachment.

Apple lists 14 hours of video in the specs... and I would concur. I'd have gotten there with the last 7% battery life.

;)

Doesn't the iPhone 8 plus have by far the worst battery of all modern flagships?

Loads of youtube videos demonstrating this.

I dunno. I got over 13 hours of onscreen video on a single charge on my 8 Plus.

I guess if you're expecting 5 days worth of battery life then yeah it's pretty horrible.

I have an iPhone 8 and I'm not really happy with the battery life on mine. I do a lot of Snapchat though so that might explain the battery drain somewhat. I'm still within my 14 day return window and I'm seriously considering doing an exchange for an iPhone 7 Plus. I had a Plus device before and I miss the larger screen. Still debating....

On beta 3 the battery life of the 8+ is amazing. It's had limited usage today, 4hrs 16min Usage, 14hrs 9min standby but has 79% battery remaining. 12-14hrs usage is comfortable with plenty of battery left. The S8 and even the trusty Xperia z3 came no where near the 8+.

Yeah. Can’t post a screenshot right now but my 8+ is currently at 8h 34min usage and 42h standby and still has 35%.

Why not get an 8 Plus? I believe there's only a $30 price difference between the 7 Plus and 8 Plus.

The reviews I’ve watched praise the battery life. The Note 8 is the one that takes the most criticism in this area, presumably because Samsung was overly cautious with the battery size.
