8+ vs 7+ vs iPad Mini 4 vs Galaxy S8+ Camera test

Additional point: I actually like the photos the iPad Mini 4 takes more than the iPhone 7+. I've complained about the 7+ camera before, and it is blah. Not impressed at all. It's the number reason I wanted to dump my 7+ for an 8+.

My iPhone 6S took better photos than the iPhone 7+. All the press and hype over the 7+ dual lenses was definitely misplaced.

Looks like Galaxy S8 is brighter, but iPhone 8+ has more contrast? Which has more accurate lighting conditions?

I can’t say with certainty but I would expect the 8 to offer similar results since the 2nd lense is not always in use.

Here is only the 7+ (Bottom) vs. 8+ (Top). Notice the 7+ lacks detail, has flat colors and has like a sallow sheen over everything?

Its just blah camera all around. My 6S took vastly better pics. The 8+ just trounces the 7+ camera.

The iPhone 8+ just about shades it over the S8 but only by a fraction, they are comparable in quality even if they look vastly different.

The snowglobe looks much better/sharper on the iPhone 8+. The 7+ looks more saturated.

Wow that's a huge difference in detail. Are the both on iOS 11 with HEIF as photo format?

Just picked up the 8 Plus to try out. Camera is really good on the iPhone 8 Plus. Now is it leaps and bounds better over the iPhone 7 Plus? I don’t think so. Quality of any photo is 95% skill of the photographer anyway

When looking at this direct comparison I'd say the 8+ takes better pics than the 7+. But not better enough for me to upgrade solely for that. I've gotten some spectacular pics with the 7+ too.
