802.11AC advice

Hello,

I have 1Gbps fiber internet, I get great bandwidth for my devices on ethernet (cf. photo) but my devices on wifi are only getting 100Mbps because my router only supports 802.11n on 5GHz.

I'm looking at buying a router 802.11ac but what is the best bandwidth I can expect? I'm finding a lot of conflicting information on the web ! Some sources saying 1,7 Gbps others only 300Mbps.

Give this article a read and note the section on page three where it talks about wifi speeds.

Realistically, you are looking at a best case 400-500Mbps for wifi.
