hey

jw, could i, a mbp core duo owner, benefit from the wireless n airport extreme? can it like maybe "upcpnvert" my wireless g so maybe it is still faster but not quite as fast as n?

In a word, no.

You may be able to take advantage of the ability to set up a wireless external hard drive or wireless printing features, but the connection speed for your MBP is limited by the 802.11g card you have in there.

Or, you can replace the AirPort Extreme card in your Core Duo MBP with the 802.11n card from a current Mac Pro - search the forums for instructions.
